Recommended Approach for Optimizing Reports with Conditional Suppression and Structural Variability

We are currently using the same reports for two reporting packages:

  1. Annual Report – A two-columnar structure.
  2. Half-Year Report – A three-columnar structure with a different layout compared to the Annual Report.

The structural change is driven by Period and conditional suppression. The following practices are currently implemented:

  • Report Scaling: Driven by a custom dimension with conditional formatting applied.
  • Dynamic Headings: Achieved using conditional formatting and conditional text based on the reporting package.
  • Rounding Process: To prevent scaled variance on the report face, additional two columns are required for every column in a grid. This also involves conditional suppression.

Challenge:
The application of multiple conditional suppressions has significantly impacted the loading time of the report.
