Using the API to update existing records (tips)

We were able to hire a developer to use the web API to develop a program to update existing records using a .csv file. This took around a week of development plus ramp up time, for a total of ~2.5k.
If you'd like the contractor's details, I can pass them on.
Some hiccups we ran into:
- Make sure you handle the long text fields somehow. The first time we tested the update, it corrupted several of the long-text fields and we lost that information. Create several REALLY full candidate profiels that you test on before applying it to actual candidates
