What is the use of Capture competitive and capture expectations?

In the recruiting center there is an option in more actions "Capture competitive" and "Capture Expectations"?What is the use of the this feature? Is this only for reference of the user (i.e just an option for the recruiter to collect expectations/competitive offers of the candidate) or am I missing something here?
