Any implications if we update cost center dimension to Hierarchy Type = Multiple

We would like to update our ePBCS environment cost center dimension to be able to share our cost center members more than once.  Our cost center dimension is sparse and our Hierarchy Type = Not Set.  If we update the Hierarchy Type to  Hierarchy Type = Multiple so we can share members more than once what are the implications of this change and what should we test?  Will it slow calc scripts or data smartview retrievals, etc?

Any advice here would be appreciated!
