How can you join 2 tables without an intermediate table?

Summary:

I need assistance with how to join 2 tables in a report without the intermediate table it is telling me I have to use. I have data in an Answers table and a custom Node table. I need to be able to link an Answer ID to the Node ID. Its saying that I have to use an intermediate table (Accounts), but that is not giving the desired result as the the join is accounts.created_by. Or could you read the values from two columns in one report from a different report? Any assistance would be appreciated!
