Goal

This document explains how to create an OL VM from custom image from VirtualBox

Solution

VM configurations

Custom Image Requirements

  • The image must be set up for BIOS boot.
  • Only one disk is supported with maxium size 300G and with valid MBR bootloader
  • Image should not be encrypted.

By default VirtualBox creates disks in vdi format remember to select vmdk. If you selected vdi,  we can change it later to vmdk - see Convert to vmdk section. Please note OCI supports ONLY vmdk and qcow2 format.
