Custom data validation for free text fields (incl DFF)

Summary:

Ability to perform basic validation on data entered into fields.

Content (required):

There was once a useful feature where we could use groovy expression 'VALIDATORS' to perform validation on data format entered into DFFs by user. For example, code must begin with prefix 'FR'.

For some reason this has been removed and is no longer supported.

Is there any replacement for this good feature?
