For a workflow message, how long until the message becomes obsolete?

For the implementation we have following queries that require your assistance.

1. For the advanced workflow as per documentation "sending" status should be sent to OFSC within 30 sec , however we are not clear when the "sending" status will expire and the final update "sent" is not sent to OFSC. Can you please let us know the time for the expiry of sending status and if it can be configured in OFSC.

2. Is it possible to not request the "get status" and only receive the final status when it becomes available?
