Dynamic getManager approver list function based on Assignee change (Reassign scenario)

Summary:

Is there a way to use the "getManager" function in a list builder that will allow it to respond to any reassignment that occurred earlier in the workflow task?

Scenario:

  • We route Invoice approval to the Requester as the first approver
  • Say that Requester reassigns their approval task to someone else (maybe someone more familiar with the invoice)
  • Then, our workflow rules route to the Requester's managerial chain (see screenshot below)
  • But if the Requester reassigned it, we want to route to that new Assignee's managerial chain (the individual who received the reassignment)
