Looking for an OCC API to add or update line items in cart with a custom field to store configuration data.

The use case in detail:

On the OCC site we are developing: https://p29956360c1dev-store.occa.ocs.oraclecloud.com , the products listed on PLP are base variants for customization. On clicking configure button on any of these base variants, the user would be redirected to an external configurator website. Here the user can customize the product and the customization info would be shared to OIC, which would call an SSE, so the product can be added to cart, along with the customization config data.
