Concerns about scale

We've been running a production OIC instance for about 3 months. We currently have 1430 in flight processes, 795 closed processes, 50,000 total integration runs.  We deploy often and have 22 application versions currently active.

How long is this going to last before the system starts to bog down?  We can't deactivate because it erases data.  What about retiring or shutting down the applications?  Does that give any performance boost?  We aren't experiencing performance issues currently, but I'm worried for the future.
