Renaming a Member in EDMCS and sending to EPM Planning cube

Summary:

  1. Renaming a member. We tested this by renaming a base level member in EDM, sending the txt file to the PLAN_PROV cube with the thought that it could rename the member by tracking its member “ID” in the background. Unfortunately, what we saw is that, after importing the txt file, it just simply appended what it thought was a new member, keeping the old member (not renaming as we were expecting). 
  2. I am hoping that to rename a member you don’t have to manually rename in directly in the EPM application and then go into EDMCS and do the same thing.
