Is it possible to add translations for work schedules after they are assigned to an employee?

As part of planning a large scale cleanup of schedules I'm exploring how flexible a schedule is after I've made it. My hope is that I can add translations to a schedule as needed--even after employees are assigned. If that's not possible, then I will need to make new/unique schedules for each language when I discover that they are needed. This would result in a LOT of duplication so I'd rather avoid it.

I am rolling out schedules to our areas one country at a time. So I create a number of schedules for country A and I may (if needed) add translations to that schedule before I assign employees to it. When I get to country B I notice that MANY of their needed schedules match the ones I already created for Country A, and those schedules have employees already assigned to them. My experience has been that I cannot edit the schedules while workers are attached to them (and sometimes I can't edit it even if I remove the employees from
