How to exclude certain Job Grades from Job Requisition approvals?
Summary:
We are looking for a way to exclude certain (high-level) Job Grades from Job Requisition approvals, i.e., all job reqs ultimately go to the hiring manager +1 for approval, but we want to exempt the CEO and his direct reports from this workflow.
Anyone currently doing this / have any tips for how to do so?

Currently, our workflow / approval rule does the following:
Hiring Manager Saves req --> Recruiter Submits req --> Hiring Manager +1 Approves req--> Recruiter Posts req
HR wants to exclude the CEO and the CEO's direct reports (I'll call them Level 1s / L1s) from the above workflow, i.e., the requisition would self approve if the Hiring Manager reports to an L1 or to the CEO. What we have tried so far:
