Creating a property that looks up and allows users to select from a node type in a different app

Summary:

I want to create a property in an application called Humana - TTT with a node type of "COID". I want this property to look at the hierarchy/node type COMPANY in the Humana - OCGL application, allowing the user to see a list of companies in the chart and select one. I thought there was a way of doing this but when trying I noted that I could only create a property using the Property node.template and when associating the look up for the property the associated/assigned node type/hierarchy had to be in the same application.
