Vat registration number missing on overseas invoices

When raising invoices against overseas customers ( companies in Italy, Singapore and the US) our company VAT registration number is being excluded from the invoice sent to them. Its working as expected when invoicing companies in the UK, just not on overseas companies. As this is a legal requirement, does anyone know how to resolve this?
