How to create a Subscription based on a Contact(B2C) rather than a Customer(B2B)

Summary:

We are building a commerce site from where people would subscribe to products.

These Subscriptions should ultimately end up within SMC.

But the Subscriptions should be possible to be created with Contacts rather than accounts.

How is this feasible?

I am aware we can create dummy accounts for the contacts and use them but is there a design for a B2C Subscription if yes, please suggest how it can be done?
