Hello Experts,

Can you please suggest how to handle the accrual balance after a future-dated global transfer?


Hire date of the person: 6/16/08

Global transfer performed on 10/20/23 with an effective date of 11/5/2023 (Future-Dated Global Transfer).

As of 10/20/23, the person had an absence balance of 157.99.

Once the future-dated global transfer completes:

  • Assignment 1 (11/5 effective date): Ending balance: -157.99
  • Assignment 2 (11/5 effective date): Initial balance: 157.99 (Projected)

On 10/21 and 11/4, payroll ran in the system. So, the person accrued 8 + 8 = 16 hours in both payrolls for Assignment 1 because that is the current assignment at that time.

From 11/5, Assignment 2 becomes active and has a balance of 157.99, and inactive Assignment 1 has a balance of 16 hours, which accrued in two payrolls after the global transfer completed.
