Deploying co-browse

I apologize if this is a simple question, but I can't find documentation of this anywhere in my searches. We would like to deploy Co-Browse on our site, but I need to provide information to management about the end user experience before we move forward. My main question is how does an agent initiate the co-browse session with a customer either by chat or phone call? Do they give the customer a unique code to put in the widget which then starts the share session?
