Reporting on Categories by ID

I have created the simplest report to try to just see what ID's are associated to each Category.  I'm trying to troubleshoot some code that is calling the incorrect categories but since the code uses the ID's, the names of the categories are not helpful to me.  When I include the Category - Hierarchy( cat_hierarchy) and the Category (id) field, why is the name of the category showing up in the ID field?  When I mouse over the description of that field, it says "The ID number of the Category" but the report does not show any ID numbers, it
